This week, I'm focusing on passer rating allowed.

For the Rams' defense, this is a surprisingly favorable stat. The Rams have allowed opposing QBs to achieve an aggregate rating of 81.6 (3rd in NFL). This is largely due to the Rams' interception total (4th in the league with 8), TD passes allowed (tied for 4th with 6), and yards/attempt allowed (tied for 7th at 6.9).

On the flip side, the Detroit Lions are dead last in the NFL, allowing a passer rating of 113.8.

So... yeah, this is another "should win big" week.

Yes it is!!

Much of the billing for this game is 'the return of Goff', while in parts of that locker room I'd bet it's "Stafford up against his old team"!

We have had some stinkers against the Lions in years past. Gus Frerotte beating us in the final 2 minutes back in 1999 in week 8 (for our 2nd loss) scoring with 0:28 left. Stafford, Golden Tate and Prater beating us in 2016, 31-28, scoring 10 points in the final 6:02 to beat us with Prater kicking the GW at 1:29. Stafford throwing a TD with 0:10 left in 2012, 1:35 after Greg Z broke a 20-20 tie, to beat us 27-23.

We're but just 5-5 vs the Lions (2-0 at home*) from 1999-2020. But this year? Not gonna happen!!!

*8 of 10 were played in the Motor City.

These are not the Linehan, Spags, Fisher Rams. McVay's gonna know exactly how to shut down Goff and the Lions. Even if they don't the offense is gonna score.

Its gonna be a tough year for Goff. The Lions are really bad and might have their pick of whatever quarterback they want next draft. Goff is just gonna be a bridge QB till that guy is ready. Much like Jimmy GQ in Frisco.
