Patriots are winning 9 games, with who at QB? We play the NFC EAST & NFC EAST this year. We have what may be our weakest schedule in forever.

I think the Eagles, Dallas and the Giants will all be better. The AFC East? Not worried at all except for what month we play in Buffalo. Tampa? Chicago? We should beat both but then we should have beat Tampa this year. The key, as always is the division games. Sweep a couple and split with the other and you need to go 5-5 with the rest of your schedule to win 10. Do better than 5-5 and you win 11 or 12.

They could win more obviously, its my best guess, but with our division it's going to be hard to get much higher than that IMO. Lets say we go 3-3 in the division, we have to go 7-3 outside of it. I think that is pretty bullish.

In the last 30(!) years only twice has the eventual coach of the year had less than three wins above their expected win total. And the average wins-above expected for these thirty coaches was 4.5. So The Rams might have to go something like 13-3 for McVay to (re)win it.

Also there’s a heavy bias in the last 30 years towards new coaches: 16 of the 30 were either first year or second year with a team (again: see McVay 2017). And hard to win twice too: only four of those since 1990, including Belichick, Bruce Arians and Ron Rivera(!). Could Arians and/or Rivera three-peat this year?? Ten wins for the Redskins, twelve for Tampa might just do it. That said I’m liking the value of a lot of the longer shots — in the right column — versus the favorites; a lot of upside there.
