Poor spacing leaving random gaps?

Both OTs started the season shakey. They missed Saffold but losing Saffold did not cause both OTs to regress. Fortunately AW got it back together. You can field a line with 2 newbies if both OTs hold up, and they didn't...when they didn't, starting 2 newbies just compounded it all.

How about we play some of these guys in the Preseason?!?!?! IMO, we should have done that last year. I am ok with no Goff or Gurley and some others but the OL and DL needs to play. More so the OL just to give them some continuity.

Maybe you're feeling ignored. Let me fix that. I read your previous posts and, while some of what you said may have validity, its not gospel truth, nor is it anything monumentally original. In all, I appreciate your contribution to the discussion, but I don't think your comments need to dominate the discussion over all other comments.

I think that's a fair point. In the OL's case, playing as a unit in preseason would likely have value.

Do you know why . it was terrible? (To start the season. It wasn't to end the season. Which has to be accounted for or you have no real argument.)

So why was the OL terrible to START the season (as opposed to the several top OLs Kromer re-made before, including the Rams...and in contrast to the fact that it was not terrible to finish the season).

If your answer is the 2 newbies, that would be a big "wrong."

Not them alone no, but they had a lot to do with it. Whitworth hit the wall and Havenstein played like shit. The whole line sucked

What was I actually saying? Both OTs did not play well. Not nearly as well as they did the year before. Has nothing to do with "less developed." Do you go around saying that any player who has a bad year has "returned to a less developed state"? Of course not.

To be honest, it's surprising it has to be pointed out that the OTs did not play well. I thought it was visible to anyone watching.

One reason the OL stabilized some in the 2nd half of the season is because Hav got replaced by someone who played better and AW stepped back up and played better himself.

Which of course has nothing to do with the coach. Coaches are only responsible for what goes wrong.

When one of their Teams' players "does not play well" most football fans will say:
-he's not playing well this year
-he played better last year
-he's just not making the plays like he used to
-he's not the same player as last year

"Regressed" is your word. You defend it. I think it's being misused in your context......hence the dictionary definition in my last post.

The only place I've seen the R-word used in football parlance is when talking about a player's stats:

Here's a Random Example:
Rams Fan #1: Gee, Jared Goffs 2019 numbers are way down from last season....in fact, his Completion %, his TD %, his Interception %, his total passing yardage, his YPA, his Yds/Completion, and of course, his QBR and QB Rating have all REGRESSED!!!

Rams Fan #2: Yeah, that's because of that shitty put-together OL that Goff had to play behind in 2019!

See the distinction there zn? Stats regress. Players generally don't regress...
...they just play more poorly than we fans are used to.
