THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Los Angeles Rams have hired Tory Woodbury as their new assistant special teams coach and Jonathan Cooley as a defensive assistant/quality control coach.

Woodbury just completed his third season with the Rams and second as a scouting assistant. Prior to joining the organization in 2017, he served as a scouting intern for the Senior Bowl Scouting Academy in 2016, a pro scouting intern for the Rams in 2015, a scouting intern for the Browns in 2014 and the running backs coach/assistant offensive coordinator/NFL liaison for Delaware State from 2011-14.

Cooley joins the club after spending last season as the University of Akron's defensive backs coach. He's also a familiar name for the team, having been selected by the NFL for the 2019 Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Rams.

Besides Akron, Cooley also spent time on coaching staffs at Millikin University (2011), Bluffton University (2012), John Carroll University (2013-14), the University of Kentucky (2015-16), the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2017) and Kent State University (2018). His first season at John Carroll overlapped with new Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley's as the school's defensive coordinator.
