I'm quite certain the Rams grades are rather different most of the time than the PFF grades

Goff is getting too much pressure.

Teams don't have to worry about Gurley as much and the play action is a little harder to set up

So let me get this straight, the Rams 1st rounders 2016-2018 were spent on obtaining Jared Goff and Brandin Cooks. Max, are you actually suggesting that they should have invested in o-line with those picks instead?
The Rams were in the Super Bowl last year largely due to the efforts of those two if I remember correctly

When the Rams won the Super Bowl in 1999, they had an OL consisting of a 1st round pick (Pace), a 5th (Miller), two 7ths (Timmerman, Nutten), and a UFA (Gruttadauria).

Another way to look at OL acquisitions is how your team got them, not where they were picked originally. Just putting things in black and white here. Timmerman was an already successful superbowl guard with GB and when they signed him, he was one of the highest paid FAs at the time. Pace is obvious; Miller as you said was a Rams 5th rounder (and recent too--96). Nutten may have been a 7th originally but he had been cut and in fact had a stint in the CFL then Europe. He's a classic castoff. So was Gruttadauria (he was originally signed as a UDFA by Dallas and then...cast off). To mold that 99 OL they let a 1st and 2nd round pick walk (Gandy and Wiegert.) So the 99 OL not only includes 2 cast-offs...in effect they "traded" out 1st and 2nd round picks for those 2 cast offs. Cause good OL coaches know how to take guys who maybe didn't make it as rookies but who have potential and develop them further if they're fits. Cast-offs are always a regular part of good OL building (as I said just putting it all down in black and white).

My thinking is more along the lines of using the draft capital we spent on Henderson, Long, and Evans, and spend it instead somehow on a talented OG in the 2nd round or in a trade.

I think Noteboom is not an OG, he’s a pure OT. I think we don’t have an inside running game because we don’t have strong interior run blockers. As a result, defenses aren’t respecting our play action passing game the way they did when we had Saffold.

Noteboom is physically not that different from Saffold, who also played OT. And in fact to mention Kromer again, he has a long history of playing tackles at guard.

As for the interior OL as of right now Football Outsiders ranks them 4th in terms of running yards up the middle (center/guard). They're also 13th in % of runs stuffed. Allen is just an advantage over Sullivan when it comes to being a physical blocker.

Don't get me wrong, having questions and issues about this is fair. I just happen to see it in a different light than you. Until this OL is well established late in the season though, questions about them are valid. I am just less worried than you.

If DLs are assaulting them in the meanwhile they just have to do what everyone does. Call plays that get the ball out quicker.

Goff has never been injured at any level he's played. Some guys just have a knack for absorbing hits without serious injury. People used to say Russell Wilson will never last running around like that. 114 consecutive games later they don't say that anymore.
