So you're saying he's better than Max Unger?

I think AD destroys the rookie. 8-)

I think AD is frothing at the mouth after his performance in Carolina. He wasn’t happy about it.

The Rams have a history of being unkind to QBs. Brees is gonna get hit.

Does McCoy have to be better than Unger for it to be a top OL?

If there's a play where AD lines up over center and is blocked one on one, then yeah AD would likely win that. Same if it was Unger.

No.
Although, he has to be better in order to classify the entire oline as "The best they've had in years ".

They're good but they're still starting a rookie in place of an all-pro center.

McCoy might be a great center going forward but he's not there yet.

It’s a top OL, but you said it may be better than last year. I don’t see how with the change at Center.

If Noteboom replaced Saffold last year that would not have been a better OL.

I don't either. Same guys except McCoy for Unger. Could they be better? Sure. Based on what determination.....after 1 game.....are they considered a better OL? McCoy? Does that mean the Rams are a better OL than 2018?

Okay. But just to add--Ramczyk is in his 4th year and better than ever, Armstead is still a top LOT, and if McCoy is as good as people who have watched him think, he's at least not a big drop off. No matter how we parse it though, it's a very good OL, and still one of the 2 best the Rams face this year.

imo no nfl offensive line has benefited more from offensive scheme than the saints' oline - year after year brees ranks at the bottom of the league in average depth of pass while no team throws more to their running backs, damn hard to get after a qb when that's going on, and it does wonders for a qb's completion rate... last year the saints allowed just 52 combined sacks and hits, by far the lowest total in the league, league average was 91... also, the saints ranked 18th in rush yards per carry last season.

anyway, i think the saints' oline is a capable unit, but offensive scheme, a qb who has mastered that scheme, and quality skill position players has done wonders in terms of the high regard many have for the saints oline, which is often the case.
