While the Super Bowl was not Goff's best game, his "struggles" are a bit overstated, if you ask me.

In the 4th, Goff throws a perfect pass to Brandin Cooks that is "broken up" at the goal line. The NFL would later admit that, under the new replay rule, that would have been pass interference. Let's say that, instead, the ball is caught for a TD (and, as a result, he doesn't throw an INT on the next play). Goff's stats would have been 20-37, 256 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT and an 85.0 passer rating (Brady's rating in the game, by the way, was 71.4).

This, in a game in which the Rams only generated 62 rushing yards and Goff was hit 12 times and sacked 4 times.

Not excuses... just context - something the critics never seem to apply when it comes to Goff.

Let them keep underestimating him. Let them shift credit to McVay and his supporting cast. Just keep winning, kid.

I agree McVay will use the SB to learn from. Who knows the outcome with a healthy Kupp? PI not called on the Cooks play? I felt the D played as well as anyone could ask of them. And so it falls on the O. Less predictability thus running fewer 11 personnel when needed. Adding Henderson into the mix makes us much more unpredictable and dangerous this coming season assuming everyone stays healthy. With us shoring up the middle on D this offseason I think we’re more dangerous.

Welcome to RFU. I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned. I think our overall defense will be better than last season's. Weddle brings something we haven't had. A high IQ and knowing where to be on certain plays.

As bad as Peters was the first half, he wasn't near as bad the second half and was pretty good in the playoffs. I don't think it has as much to do with Talib's return as letting him play where he's best. Off the receiver. The book on him was he has off the charts instincts when he can play off the receiver, see the quarterback and react.

Fowler getting a full training camp with the defense could allow him to reach the potential he has always had. He's actually pretty good in both pass and run defense. Matthews adds some versatility being able to play inside or outside. We don't even need to mention Aaron Donald. We already know he's the best defensive player period. No matter the position.

While I'm not sure the offense will remain GSOT level, I think they should still be very good. I wouldn't mind seeing a more efficient offense. Moving the chains. Taking care of the ball. Closing out late in games. Even if it means a few less points. Not too much though. Maybe averaging 28 or 29 ppg instead of 32 or 33. Ball control makes it easier for the defense.

I think come playoff time this team will be more battle tested than ever before. If they should be fortunate enough to make it back to the Superbowl, I expect a much better performance from the offense.

AND, Gurley dropped his little out pattern pass that would have gotten us either a first down inside the 10 or a TD on that play.
