Had a quick email chat wit Dr. Chao and here's what he said about the following video A1 posted in another thread and some Gurley IG pics:

my union tribune article still stands. this doesnt change anything
he did squats in video.
his left knee looks swollen in a picture.
he potentially favors left knee as he squats.

this all doesn't change anything.

Here's the video:

Here are the IG pics he looked at:

And here's his UT article:

Well that settles it.
Gurley’s Retirement announcement should happen any moment now

While I appreciate the satire, I do think he has some problems though which is really too bad as I view him as our best back since Dickerson (no disrespect to SJ). Gurley is amazing and if he is not 100%, and I'm not sure he ever will be, that is a huge loss for the Rams.

This is just sad! Getting a medical diagnosis from watching a workout video.

This isn't going to go away anytime soon for some.

Gurley was working out. That should be a good thing but some want to think its bad.🙄

Chau’s shady history is well documented.

His practice of “diagnosing” people he has never examined is downright unethical, unprofessional and irresponsible.

And gets him on the radio with absurd regularity. Although, he usually points out that he hasn't "examined" the patient directly...for whatever that is worth.

I.E. Opinions are like assholes.....

Chao has been wrong enough times to say he’s not the last word on this stuff.

Still, there is legitimate concern over Gurleys knee.

Ad hominem attacks on Chao won’t change that.

his right bicep and his right forearm flexor muscles look swollen too.

Of course there's legitimate concern over Gurley's knee....because he missed the final 2 games of the 2018 season. Because they have said they have to manage his touches. We all KNOW there's concern over the knee. He's the centerpiece of our offense. He's the straw that stirs the drink. He's the one guy opponents want to stop. I'm getting the impression he's mum on everything to make opponents wonder if they still need to focus on him. But none of that indicates he's not 100%, he's less of a threat or he's a shell of his former self. And video diagnosis of a player's knee won't change that either. Truthfully, in that picture of him doing pullups, his right knee actually looks a tad bigger than his left. WTF?

As far as ad hominem attacks on Chao, he deserves every one and then some. Like Avenger said, "it's unethical, unprofessional and irresponsible".....not to mention totally unsubstantiated.
