A few rules...
Rookies need not apply.
Players who finished 2018 on an injured list are downgraded for purpose of this list.
I've included 2 RBs, 3 WRs and no FB to account for the reality of today's offenses.
I've included 4 DL and 4 LBs to account for 4-3 vs. 3-4 defenses.
Offense
QB: Russell Wilson, Seahawks
RB: Todd Gurley, Rams
RB: Chris Carson, Seahawks
WR: Brandin Cooks, Rams
WR: Robert Woods, Rams
WR: Tyler Lockett, Seahawks
LT: Andrew Whitworth, Rams
LG: Laken Tomlinson, 49ers
C: Justin Britt, Seahawks
RG: Austin Blythe, Rams
RT: Rob Havenstein, Rams
TE: George Kittle, 49ers
Defense
DL: Aaron Donald, Rams
DL: Deforest Buckener, 49ers
DL: Chandler Jones, Cardinals
DL: Jarran Reed, Seahawks
OLB: Dante Fowler, Rams
ILB: Bobby Wagner, Seahawks
ILB: Jordan Hicks, Cardinals
OLB: Haason Reddick, Cardinals
CB: Patrick Peterson, Cardinals
CB: Aqib Talib, Rams
FS: Eric Weddle, Rams
SS: John Johnson, Rams
Rams: 11
Seahawks: 6
Cardinals: 4
49ers: 3
One might assert that I'm being a bit of a homer here, but... am I?
First of all, the Rams have won back-to-back division titles, so it should come as little surprise that they have the top talent.
Second, some of the selections were somewhat by default. Blythe is not a top player, but there are not a lot of top RGs in the division (Mike Person, 49ers and D.J. Fluker, Seahawks were considered). Same goes for OLB. Fowler is still unproven, but I still thought he deserved a spot over K.J. Wright, Seahawks, given Wright's injuries last year.
So... agree...disagree?
