Matching the Lions offer was the smart and prudent thing to do. Malcom is a solid and reliable RB and special teams contributor and ensuring his return the RB room was the right move. Snead and his team have made another wise choice.

So let me get this straight. Brown signs a contract for less money (per year) than what we would have had to pay him if he just chose to agree with our tender (and we get him for 2 years)?

Either Snead is a genius, Brown's agent maybe not so much, or we're lucky!

It's a puzzler. I also wonder why the Rams had to think about matching, maybe something to do with guarantees?
