Could be three weeks before power is back. One of the big main transmission lines are down and in the Mississippi River right now.

So many lines are down they're dispatching even more trucks/teams to help. A convoy of like 30+ trucks from Michigan came through here this morning on the way down to New Orleans. Must be bad if they're getting help from 16-18 hour drives away.

The power company has a Flikr page showing all the damage.

Stuff like this is apparently pretty common.

In my town most power lines run through back yards. You don't see a lot of them in the front yards. We had a big pole in the corner of our backyard in my previous home.

Where I live local power delivery is done through underground conduit. Even some of the large 230KV transmission lines are now being put underground. This creates much more reliable power delivery.

Saints and Katrina ? >>>>> 3-13
Saints and Ida? >>>>>> TBD

The year after Katrina they went from Brooks to Brees, Haslet to Payton.
This year they went from Brees to Winston.

Brees had some great timing, eh?
