Pro Bowl

i read a quote from a detroit fan and paraphraising...

"ramfans crack me up... you think a thumb injury for stafford is serious?? the guy played with a broken collarbone, and also played with broken fingers on his throwing hand"..

he's a tough guy, just hopeful he comes through... my money is on him...

i admit, i was pretty unsettled when i heard, but i read he was throwing the ball around today, so...

go rams

What happens sometimes is that fans get so connected to a specific player on their “favorite” team that they can’t let go to the point of rooting for the player over their team. Sometimes they actually switch teams as a result.

Me, I have always been Rams first regardless of how much I loved the player. It broke my heart when they traded Dickerson. But I used the draft to soften my heartbreak.

But one thing I never do is look for reasons to prop up an ex-Ram who played poorly. Goff played poorly ever since he lost a HOF caliber RB who was the centerpiece of the offense. End of story for me.

That is where I'm at. The Rams come first. I defended Goff. I never claimed he was elite but I always said he was good enough to win with. And they did win with him. But now he's no longer a Ram he means nothing to me other than I wish him well in his endeavors. Stafford is the guy now. I will support him as my team's quarterback.

That's how 'real fans' look at things.

As far as "wishing him well" when it comes to ex players, I think that's a normal reaction..........unless the guy was a malcontent. Wishing him well isn't rooting for him, though there would be nothing wrong with that, I would suppose.

I'm a fan of the TEAM but like many, I have my favorite players. And when a guy leaves whether it's through free agency or a trade, I may wish him well, depending on what terms on which he left. It's a way of appreciating what he did while he was here.

For instance, when Ike signed with the 49ers, there is no way in the world I could wish him ill. No way. But when he played the Rams I hoped he'd not do anything to help them win.
