Nice to know Kershaw and Stafford have been good friends for a long time. Both guys are class acts. I remember reading a SF Giants forum and a fan saying "I want to hate Kershaw because he's a Dodger. But he's such a class act I can't hate him. I hate that I can't hate him".

A quick evaluation on Stafford/Goff performances and possibly how much affect they had on the final score.

2016-2020

Games with a sub 80.0 QB rating

2016 Goff 5 in 7 games (0-5) Stafford 5 in 16 games (1-4)
2017 Goff 3 in 15 games (1-2) Stafford 2 in 16 games (0-2)
2018 Goff 4 in 16 games (2-2) Stafford 5 in 16 games (1-4)
2019 Goff 6 in 16 games (3-3) Stafford 0 in 8 games
2020 Goff 6 in 16 games (2-4) Stafford 3 in 16 games (0-3)

It's clear Goff "got away" with more sub par games (8-16) than Stafford (2-13). And Stafford had less sub par games.

Games with a 100.0 or better QB rating

2016 Goff 1 in 7 games (0-1) Stafford 6 in 16 games (5-1)
2017 Goff 6 in 15 games (5-1) Stafford 9 in 16 games (7-2)
2018 Goff 10 in 16 games (9-1) Stafford 7 in 16 games (4-3)
2019 Goff 4 in 16 games (4-0) Stafford 5 in 8 games (1-3-1)
2020 Goff 6 in 16 games (5-1) Stafford 7 in 16 games (4-3)

It's clear when Goff played well (23-4), the Rams won a lot, while the Lions lost a lot more than the Rams when Stafford played well (21-12-1). Despite having more "good games" (34-27) Stafford and the Lions had 2 less wins and 8 more losses.

Here's another note. In games when their QB rating was between 80.0 and 99.9, Goff was 11-7 while Stafford was 7-15-1. Clearly a good QB can't will a bad team to win, while a good team can benefit from good QB play AND cover for lesser performance from the QB.

Stafford had 34 games of 100.0+ from 2016 (in 72 games played) while Goff had 27 (in 70 games played). Stafford had 15 sub 80.0 games while Goff had 24. I would think that that points to better outcomes for the Rams going forward, if their roster can remain formidable.
