Oh right.

I didn’t even think about the drop in hotel revenue affecting their stadium since it was a hotel tax they passed.

Maybe the Chargers can move in and help them create more revenue?

Last I checked the NFL doesn’t give money for stadiums. Low/no interest loans? Yes. But this is money from the average Joe and Jane taxpayer.

Im sure other cities will have issues. IIRC the Arizona Cardinals stadium is partly subsidized by a fee on rental cars.

The way Spanos referred to it, it didn't need a demo crew. It was already crumbling.

Do the Bears copy the Rams and get a new home at a horse race track?

The article mentions the Rams and SoFi a number of times.

Problem is the site is way out in the northwest suburbs. In LA terms it’s just like the Rams going to Anaheim. But a more apt analogy would be the Lions when they played at the Pontiac Silverdome.

Plus Arlington Heights is heavily residential and doesn’t have industry or hotels they can leverage to raise taxes. It’s no Santa Clara or Glendale.
