#2 in Red Zone and #1 in completions of 20+ yards. The two picks Sunday Night looked to both be route problems. When you're trying to make a play, you have to throw the ball in there and trust your WR will get it. Now I'm certainly not in denial....he's had some crappy games....but is it really that bad and all on him? He's not Rodgers, Wilson or Mahomes but I'll take him. He's got a lot of guts and a lot of talent. A good combo.

Just to quibble a bit, stats do matter but stat's aren't "everything".

Not at all and I don't think many have tried to make that argument. Goff has got talent and upside but he's also earned some criticism.

I've learned the only stat that matters is wins. But it would be nice to be flashy while doing it ;)

One of the best things I saw on Sunday night was Goff skip a pass on the ground to a covered receiver when pressure was on its way toward the pocket. It was a decisive play by Goff where it was apparent that his reads were covered, a sack was coming, and living to fight another down was the best option. Its maturity like this that will have him taking us to the playoffs year and year out. Its traits like this that he's been slow to capitalize on earlier this season. There was plenty to enjoy on Sunday, but this subtlety had me excited. That's how you win football games. Living to fight another down.

he's done that quite a bit this year, especially on deep crossing routes when out of time (especially when he was facing those 6-man fronts with no help underneath), he'll just unload it in the direction of the wr and drive it into the ground... on one play against the seahawks he didn't like what he saw downfield and turned to throw to gurley who had released wide left about a yard behind the los, it was clear that goff saw the db bearing down hard on gurley so rather than get gurley killed or risk a catch/fumble or pick, goff drilled it over gurley's head safely out of bounds.... speaking of which, it was nice to finally see some plays where gurley actually worked his way out of the backfield as a dumpoff option, something the rams haven't done much of at all since mcvay's arrival, and it saved goff's ass on at least a couple of passes, if was nice to see goff working with a net at times for a change.

Gurley seems to be getting revved up and the Gurley/Goff connection is a welcome sight - we need to see more of both.

Goff throwing "dimes" to the defense again. Let's see Bortles.

The interception wasn't a good thing but I'm more aggravated by all the scuds that he launched to start the game. The tone was set early and the Rams put themselves in a trail position to essentially lose the game.

The silver lining? The Chargers are playing even worse and it ultimately wouldn't have mattered for the Rams. Not gonna catch the Vikings.

You have to use the Hubble telescope to find a silver lining in this turd of a game/season.
